his imagination was reality. that which existed externally & indepen- dent from his mind was no more tangible to him than the most distant star. those things had a tendency to dissolve right before his eyes. he felt absolutely cursed to have been born a buddha.
when dan told his co-workers at al's 10 minute oil change who he was they shrugged and continued chewing their big macs not unlike the cows from which the meat had come.

I wonder how often we "realize" only what we've already imagined and are expecting.
A good argument for using our reason and logic to temper and interpret our emotion and passion.
