As his mellifluous chant arose from his shower, she asked him if he had ever considered becoming a priest, and he answered, yes, because then he would not have to deal with personal relationships (which he had few skills with), because he never thought he would determine how to act in the company of women, because he could then live with men alone, because he could live a life of careful meditation, because his mother had wanted him to be a priest, because he would not need to worry about money or where his next job was coming from, and because he was once the only truly religious person in his family, and she replied that she was only referring to his singing, and he noted that he realized that but that an answer is always more complicated than a question assumes it will be.
