700.

Beneath the drooping heads of a vaseful of flowers, thick yellow pollen covered the oak windowsill.

I admit I didn't think this footnote was as witty or as poetic as some of your others (relatively speaking). However, when I read it I found that it's like looking at a painting, your eyes are attracted to one point and then move in a circle around the painting. I noticed the flowers first, then following in a downward clockwise fashion to the pollen and then the picture 'opened up' (clockwise) onto the contrasting window (not just a windowsill) and the picture in its entiretly lay before me at the end of the sentence. And so I must give brownie points to this footnote for the strange movements of my mind's eye.
